People spend hours and days praying and sometimes
accompanying it with fasting. Some move from one prayer center to another in
hope of getting answers to their prayers to no avail. Although some people may
struggle to get their prayers answered, others get answers to their prayers
within minutes; sometimes even before they pray. Is God partial? Why is this
so? Deliberating on this issue, what comes to mind is “ Lack of knowledge, my
people perish” sayeth the Lord.
Most at times, we think we need to be aso just in our own ways before our
prayers get answered by God. With this mindset, many judge themselves to see if
they are really qualified in their deeds to have an answer to the prayer they
have said. This attitude will definitely result in that which seems like an
unanswered prayer. The devil can take an occasion of this and send doubts into
your mind. In the end, you will be double-minded leading to doubt instead of
faith. When this happens by and by, and you realise you are not seeing the
results of your prayers, you may be forced to draw the conclusion that your
prayers are not been answered as a result of your own lifestyle or
unrighteousness. Although I may agree with you if you think it may be as a
result of an attitude of yours, I may not agree with you if you think that
attitude is any kind of condemnation you are harboring on yourself. In actual
fact, the devil will take advantage of the act of condemnation against yourself
and put doubts in you. These doubts arise as you become double-minded. However,
what does the bible say in James_1:8? It says “A double minded man is unstable
in all his ways”. If you are unstable, you cannot lay hold on what you want.
After prayer or even before that, God has already released what you seek for,
but we most of the times fail to lay hold of it because of instability. This
distorts our faith being the pre-requisite to laying hold of all that we need.
We now realise that it is not God who refuse to answer, but us who refuse to
receive even as we allow ourselves to be condemned by our minds; inviting the
devil to use us against ourselves. The cure or antidote I believe will be one
of the remedies for this kind of mindset is Romans_1:17. It states that “For therein is the
righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”.
The righteousness of God is revealed in faith not your own works or acts of
righteousness. Even as living a righteous life, (being the fruit of the life
you have received from God is the best way of living), it is not a
pre-requisite for an answered prayer. Submitting yourself wholly to the
righteousness of God instead of trust in your own attitude will enable you
develop that strong faith in whatever you pray for because you will be actually
confident that God is not unrighteous in any way. And so, you will be confident
that if only it requires righteousness to get an answered prayer, then you will
definitely have it because God can never be unrighteous, and it is only on His
righteousness you lean to get what you want. If you wish to look at yourself,
you will always find faults in one way or the other. Maybe you wish to ask,
what if I do not find any fault with myself? That is great, but it is still not
a requisite for an answered prayer because by that you will be trusting in your
own righteousness rather than that of God. Do not forget that the bible clearly
points it out that our own righteousness is like a filthy rag and so cannot
please God. This is because the righteousness of God WITHOUT works and the
observance of the law is revealed as it is written in Romans_3:21
“But now the righteousness of God without
the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;”.
God, therefore, states categorically that our righteousness is of Him.
Ephesians 2:8 again clarifies that “For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it
is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
With these revelations, it is best we keep our
minds on whatever we pray for and believe we receive it immediately we pray for
it. It pays to believe you have received whatever you have prayed for even
before you pray. Bible says clearly that whatever you pray for, believe you
have received it, and you will surely see it manifest against all odds. This is
the faith attitude that produces faith results. In all things, we Need faith
because Hebrews 11:6 states “ without faith it is impossible to please God”. This
again takes us back to our earlier notion on condemning ourselves. We condemn
ourselves because we think we don’t please God enough to make Him answer our
prayers. We try our best in our lifestyle, attitudes and behaviours to please
Him to no avail. Meanwhile, the only requisite to pleasing God is FAITH.
Nothing else can please God like faith. In all that you do in the name of God,
if faith is out of it, it becomes void. God always wants us to trust Him for
all we are and it is only our faith in Him that can enable us develop this kind
of trust. This reminds me of an abbreviation that I heard a woman of God gave
to faith as revealed to her by the Holy Ghost. She states that God told her
faith means “Forsaking All I Take Him”. Watch the initials; does it not form
faith when combined? This is not a doctrine anyway, but I find it significant
in that I believe in order to fully trust and have maximum faith in God, we
need to forsake all we are, and all we have and trust in Him only. Why do you
think that God will send the Israelites through the way of the wilderness even
though they have a shorter route to take? The first Israelites to arrive in
Egypt do not have to pass through any red sea, but God now wants them to face
situations that will build up their faith in Him although they have all the
silver and gold they receive from the Egyptians when they were leaving. This
supposes that, no matter what you have, you need to trust God in everything
because He is the only one able to help in every situation.

Get your prayers answered fast with the word of God |
Allowing
the word of God to abide in you will enable a stable growth in faith
towards God since faith comes by hearing the word of God. The more you hear the
word of God, the more your level of faith increases. What happens then if you
only hear the word and let it go without allowing it abide in you? Your faith
level decreases gradually and anytime you are faced by a situation, you need
more of the word to help you stand. This is one of the reasons why some people
keep searching from one place to another. They refuse to keep and maintain the
word of God that has taken them through the situations they have faced and so,
need to search for those same words for their level of faith to rise once more
in order for them to believe God can do it once more. It is not actually God
who is doing it once more, but they themselves who refuse to believe that God
has already done it and all they need to do is grab it. It is not bad to search
and pray for a request to manifest, but doing so amidst doubts is the problem.
Pray
without ceasing, and believe anytime you pray. I pray that you see an answer to
all your prayers in Jesus name.
