The Glory Of God Belongs To Me

The Glory Of God Belongs To Me

God`s delight is to give us His glory.
Do you wonder what God`s purpose and desire is for your life? It seems as much as God`s desire for our lives is clearly explained in simple terms, the complex it becomes for us to understand, comprehend and even grab hold of because of the nature of His divine love which surpassesall understanding for our lives.
John 17:18-22 "Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, even so, I have sent them into the world. For their sakes, I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who believe in me through their word,
that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me.
The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one;"
Looking at verse 22, it is pointed out clearly that the glory on Jesus Is given to us. It is wonderful how God will give us His glory as opposed to the verse that says "He will never share His glory with any gods".
Isaiah 42: 8 “I am Yahweh. That is my name. I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to engraved images.
Yes, this is also a true saying, but it is noteworthy that we consider the context in which the word " gods" is used. In this context, "gods" is used to replace "idols". However, in Psalm 82:6, Bible says" Ye are gods". In this context, it refers to we, human beings and believers in Jesus most especially. This, also has other revelations which we will look at later. However, it is worthy of note that the "gods" that God will not share His glory with are idols (graven images) other than we, His children. As pointed out clearly, God has given to us, the very glory on Jesus His son because we are also His sons by virtue of the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. If God were to be making reference to humans in Isaiah, He would have have contradicted Himself in John 17:22.
Nevertheless, what we need to be aware of is the manner in which God gives His glory that is on Jesus to us. He has not given us the glory so that we can brag ourselves about it. People will automatically see this glory and can mistakenly try to Revere it on you, but it is up to the believer to give God all the glory. Let us look at it from the side of the donkey that Jesus rode on.
Matthew 21: 7-9. The disciples went, and did just as Jesus commanded them, and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them. A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees, and spread them on the road. The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, “Hosanna [c] to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
When Jesus was carried on a donkey, people spread clothes on the way for Jesus to walk on, but in actual fact, it was the donkey who stepped on those luxurious clothes and palm fronds in the name of Jesus . Without Jesus, a common donkey will not be able to step on those luxurious clothes. If Jesus is in you, just us He was on the donkey, you can't but experience the glory on Him. That is the glory He has given us, and that is the glory we give back to Him in order not to be overuled by pride and drift into the devil's temptation.
Jesus says "Father, the glory you have given me, I have given to them".
John 17:22. We receive His glory even as He bestowed it on us. Does this cause us to boast?  Nay .  We rather rejoice and give Him all the thanks and praise because we are nothing without Him, but everything with Him.
Ephesians 2:10 says it is not for us to boast of nothing because IT IS ALL BY GRACE. Believe in Jesus today, confess it and receive total salvation by virtue of the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
If you are yet to believe and accept Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour, it is so simple but crucial. Believe in Him from the bottom of your heart. No individual can know what you feel in your heart except God. After believe, you need to confess Him and be saved forever. This is according to Romans 10:8-10
Remain blessed
