What is Spirituality? Is it a question for answer or it is rhetoric? Well, we wish to answer from the first man perspective,

From the beginning, bible tells us the very state of the first man and woman to ever walk on the surface of this earth. They were made in God`s likeness, they have dominion, power and authority. They control the whole earth and all that is in it. Man was created to rule. The animals feared and obeyed him; even the most veracious of them all. God actually promised them that their fear would be on all the animals. In fact, if an animal rpars at you today, it is not because it thinks it is superior. It does it out of fear to scare you away so that the fear of you should leave it. See what the bible say.

Genesis 1:26  "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 

27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 

29  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 

30  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so". 

What is Spirituality? Again... What does Adam do?

The well-being of the whole garden, both beasts and herbs were under his total control.

Genesis 2:15  "And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it". 

Adam is supposed to dress and keep the garden in that, he is given the mandate to decide on how to design the garden and also keep it safe. Nowadays, we humans are the ones who decide how to keep our planet earth. When there are wars, places get destroyed and it is all as a result of our actions and inactions. Recently, there have been campaigns hoped at planting more trees to improve vegetation in some parts of the world. All these are actions man has put in place to both keep and dress it or destroy it. Glory be to God that upon all the negative effects some of our actions may cause to earth, He still allows it to regain its nature after a while even if not fully.

What is Spirituality? He gave an identity to things. Whatever you call, that thing becomes.

He is the one that named all things. Even today, God still reserves that authority to man that anything that we discover anew, any name that the one who discovers it gives it remains its name.

Gen 2:20  "And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him". 

There were no lorries, aeroplanes, ships, computers and a whole lots of things in the days of Adam, but man have a name for all those things newly discovered in this present days because we also move in that mandate given to Adam by God.

If you call a headache death, it results in death, Be careful of how you name things.

Man in his spiritual state has a lot of authority and power. Adam by virtue of being in the spirit has this great control over animals, herbs and the earth as a whole including the devil. This is the mandate that God has given to all mankind, and it is in this authority must we live.

The word of god about the ark of god

God asked Moses to build the Ark of the Covenant for a special purpose. For this reason, He gave Moses specific guidelines and instructions as to how to build the ark.

Exodus 25:1 says "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 

2  Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that gives it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. 

3  And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass, 

4  And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, 

5  And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood, 

6  Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense, 

7  Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate. 

8  And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. 

9  According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. 

10  And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. 

11  And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about. 

12  And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it". 

The first guideline is to take offerings; probably materials to be used in building the ark, but there is a limitation as to type of offerings to be received. It must be an offering given freely from the heart.

2Corinthians_9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

 God indeed blesses a cheerful giver and not a cheerful gift. It is only when you truly understand the things of God that you give out freely without resisting. We need to compare some of those days to our present days to see whether we are truly corresponding to the will, desires and guidelines of God. Certain preachers go in for gain at the first and foremost nowadays that they lure people through deceit to gain wealth. These unsuspecting children of God buy into some of these deceits giving out and even buying these so called special anointing oils, anointing waters, handkerchiefs others. It is good to sometimes look into the past in order to see how God issued His guidelines so that we may not fall prey to these deceits. It is only by the right knowledge of God that we can rightly discern and flee from these lies.

God points out the items supposed to be used for the ark, and all these bear certain significances that we cannot be able to deliberate on now, but might do in the course of time. It is however worthy of note that God ordered the ark to be built with wood. After it is built with wood, it is supposed to be overlaid with pure gold within and without. Why was the ark not built with pure gold once and for all. Why should it be built with wood, but overlaid with gold?

In Hebrews 10:1, God says ``  For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect``. 

These means that the laws of the Old Testament are only symbols serving as shadows to reveal the real things. God does this in order to teach us from simple to complex, know to the unknown. What then does the wood symbolise? In my opinion even as I believe to have the spirit of God in me, the wood represents we human beings especially the children of God. The bible mostly refers to us as trees.

We are trees planted by God beside the waters that even when people lack water (which symbolically is the word of God), we will not taste. God`s special dealings with the Israelites in the land of Egypt especially during the ten plagues proves this. Woods are made from trees and there is no difference between a tree and its wood.  Why should the wood then be covered with gold all around both within and without?

Lest you forget, let us bear in mind that God did not just ask them to use gold, but pure gold. There is nothing pure like gold, just as there is no one pure like God Himself. The glory of God is the purest gold that ever existed and will ever exist.     

Now, I hope you get the picture. God is trying to say that a day is coming that He would build a sanctuary for Himself. A sanctuary in which He will fully dwell. God has this design for a long time in that He only needs to reveal it to Moses in order for him to form the ark in the manner in which he sees it. He will be inside that sanctuary and without it. That is why He is in us and upon us.

Here is one other thing to look at. God said the ark will be His dwelling place, and today we are the dwelling place of God, the temple of the Holy Ghost.

Collosians_6:19  "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"

This sounds like;

Exodus 25:8  "And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. 

God dwells in His sanctuary, and He is now dwelling in us, His sanctuary".

This sounds like without us Christians, God may not dwell among us. That is what we are created for, the dwelling place of God.

Spiritual Path of Abrahams Prophesy that Results in the spiritual connection of Jesus

Isaac asked Abraham where they will find a lamb to use in sacrifice to God, Abraham gave an answer which is a spiritual path of Abrahams prophesy that results in the  spiritual connection of Jesus through birth. A direct prophecy of the mystery that God accomplished by coming in the form of Jesus to die as a sacrifice for our sins. This spiritual path started in;

Genesis 22:7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? {lamb: or, kid}

 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Focus is on "God will provide HIMSELF a lamb". How will God provide HIMSELF a lamb. I believe this is a metaphorical statement.  Abraham could have said " God will provide us a lamb". Or God will provide a lamb, but He says God will provide HIMSELF  a lamb. A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a speaker compares two different things without the use of "as" or "like". Similie is the opposite of metaphor and so we only need to introduce either "as" or "like" into an appopriate  position of the metaphor to get its Similie. By this, Abraham's statement can also read as " God will provide HIMSELF as a lamb for the burnt offering". There is a great difference between God providing a lamb for a burnt offering , and God providing HIMSELF a lamb. How did God provide Himself a lamb? By coming in the form of Jesus. Some people can argue that since the sacrifice is meant for God, Abraham is trying to say God will provide a lamb for himself as a sacrifice. Even by this meaning, it is crystal clear we humans have tried in many ways to make lamb sacrifices in one way or the other to God, but Abraham reveals that God does not need all those lambs, HE will provide His own lamb. See, no matter way we see it, God does not need a lamb from Abraham nor you and I. After all He is the creator of all things. Bible says the blood of goats, bulls and lambs were insufficient for the cleansing of sins, so He decides to provide HIMSELF as a lamb for sacrifice. How does He do this?

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Look at this spiritual connection;

THE WORD IS GOD and suddenly...

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

 THE WORD became flesh and dwelt among men in the person of JESUS.

1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH.

Jesus is the lamb of God who is God Himself in human form. Because if God is His word and that word became flesh, it means God became flesh and dwelt amongst men. He laid down His life in order for us to live forever in His presence. Heb 10:1 says the old testament is but a shadow of the new. Why should God ask Abraham to take up that mission. Abraham owned many flocks and could easily sacrifice a thousand lambs for God, but God was interested in that prophecy. He asks us to speak, and He will watch over His word to fulfill it. God loves us so much that He will do anything to save us from damnation, even if it causes Him His life. After all He only laid it down to take it up again. Which good father will not look up to be among His children. God did it all in the person of Jesus. He only need us to believe and He will cater for all our cares. He has taken our sins so that we can freely be declared the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. 

In all, God as per Abraham's prophecy presented HIMSELF as a lamb, dwelt amongst us and laid down His life for the salvation of the world. His love is beyond compare.

 If you are yet to believe and accept Jesus as your personal Lord and savior, it is so simple but crucial. Believe in Him from the bottom of your heart. No individual can know what you feel in your heart except God. After believe, you need to confess Him and be saved forever. This is according to Romans 10:8-10

Spiritual growth and Spiritual guidance

Getting the picture of what it means to have Spiritual growth and Spiritual guidance is one thing, and living by it is another. Although it is only those in Christ who have the ability to enter and live in the realms of God`s Holy spirit, all humans are naturally spirit beings. Let us take a look at this to prove this Spiritual growth and Spiritual guidance assertion.

Genesis 1:26  "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

27 So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth". 

This verse tells us that God created man in his own image and commanded them to have dominion. If man is the image of God, and God is spirit, then His images are nothing more than spirits. That is why He gives us the ability to have dominion like He also have dominion. In another instance, bible says `` Genesis_2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul``. Here, we see that when God formed man, man could not move or react to any situation because man was just dust, a mere piece of clay. Until God breathed in him the breath of life which is the life-giving spirit of God, man could do nothing. This suggests that it is not actually our flesh which is that piece of clay that feels things but our spirit. Our spirit gives us the ability to live and react to the things of this world and therefore is the main person by whose principles we must live. Living by the principles of the flesh will be a mistake since the flesh in itself is dead. If we live then by the flesh, Spiritual growth and Spiritual guidance is impossible to take place.

However, at the fall of man in the Garden of Eden when Adam disobeyed God and released the sense of sin in this world, all men became flesh thereby halting Spiritual growth and Spiritual guidance from God. They left the spiritual state of power and dominion given to them by God and were left in flesh doing the bidding of the devil since the devil took over their authority. It is a pity though, but God released a master plan by sending Jesus into this world to save us from the grips of sin and regain our dominion and authority for us. In this respect, anyone who turns from this world and believe in Jesus will not only be saved, but be granted full possession of his or her lost dominion, authority and power. In order for God to do this, He has so programmed that anyone who believes in Christ will be automatically changed from the flesh to the spirit.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it comes, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit". 

This scripture reveals that there are people born of the spirit and those of the flesh. In fact anyone who genuinely believes in Jesus is born of the spirit and so is a spiritual being. This suggests that anyone who believes in Jesus is a spirit being, possessing the mandate and authority of God. A carnal or earthly person is therefore anyone who does not believe in Jesus, but choses to remain in the fallen state of man. The gateway to living a spiritual lifestyle is belief in Christ Jesus. If you already believe, it is time you start living the spirit life given us freely by God in Christ Jesus.

What is the spirit life in relation to Spiritual growth and Spiritual guidance? The spirit life encompasses yearning for and desiring to do the things of God. Because your spirit is from God, its only desire is to please God and do the things of God in full. If you are one whose desire is to worship, pray, read the word of God and help in the house of God, it is your spirit that yearns for such things.

On the contrary, those who live by the flesh live by the detects of the flesh. Since the flesh is knit to this world, all the flesh desires is to fulfill the desires of this world. The fleshly person thus desires drinking, lust and everything that goes contrary to the word of God. If you therefore seek Spiritual growth and Spiritual guidance, you need to stick to the things of the spirit; letting go of the desires of the flesh through reading the word of God, prayer and fasting.

Adam and Eve in the Realm of the Spirit

It is clear that when God created the Adam and Eve, He gave them much power and dominion because they were in the spirit as God Himself is. Today, we are going to see more of how God`s spirit gave much authority to Adam and for that matter, we humans, and its influence on man. Adam and Eve, in the Realm of the Spirit must be seen from a spiritual point of view, and not just a mere biblical story.

Gen 2:22  And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 

Gen 2:23  And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 

Gen 2:24  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 

Gen 2:25  And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. 

In the realm of the spirit, they have no consciousness of the flesh. They were unaware of their nakedness. In fact, if you are in the spirit, you can stand amidst the nakedness of many things and not be touched by them. Amidst the chaotic state of the world, the spirit of God was still hovering over the waters.

Gen 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 

Gen 1:3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 

This suggests that chaos cannot drive away the spirit of God. Man has the ability to stand in the midst of chaos and command things into being in order to reveal the light and glory of God to mankind.

In this state, Adam and Eve were fully clothed and covered in the glory of God. Remember, God breathe into them His own breathe of life, that is to say Himself. It is not surprising that above all His creation, man was given the power to rule even though he was the last to be formed on earth but however existed in God even before the foundations of the earth were set.

Man in his spiritual state have all these authority given to him in addition to his ability to directly communicate with God on a daily basis without fear.

Eph 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 

Eph 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.

As spirits, man lived before the earth because man was in God when He was forming the earth. The fact that He chooses us means we existed for a long time, and that signalled the choice. You cannot choose something that does not exist. In the beginning, it was made clear that God formed man out of clay, but bible did not talk about God creating the spirit that dwells in man. He only breathed His spirit into man after forming the clay because the spirit existed a long time prior to the formation of the body. Since the spirit existed long enough, it gains superiority, control, and dominion. It is for this reason that man, although created last holds the highest position on earth.

This is a call to every believer to stand in the glory, and the grace of God, dwelling always in the spirit so as to always hold his position. Since we are spirit beings, we can only control by dwelling in the spirit. That is why bible says to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Rom 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
